  1. Who can enrol in the Verbal Vistas TEFL course?

To enrol, you must be 18 years or older and have a good command of English. You do not need prior teaching experience. Our course is suitable for first-time teachers, career changers, graduates, and anyone looking to teach English online, or abroad.

  1. How do I enrol in the course?

Enrolment is simple and straightforward.

Send us an email at info@verbalvistas.co.za and await payment instructions.

Once payment has been made, you’ll need to email us a few details so we can set up your course access.

After payment, please email the following to info@verbalvistas.co.za:

  • Your full name and surname
  • Your South African ID number or foreign passport number
  • The email address where you would like to receive your course materials
  • Proof of payment (please use your name as the payment reference)

Once we receive this information, your course modules and instructions will be sent to you.

  1. How much does the course cost?

The course is currently available on a special for R449.
This is the total cost of the course — there are no hidden fees, no extra charges for certification, and no surprise add-ons. The price is fully inclusive.

  1. How long will the course be at the present rate?

We assess the situation at the end of each month and based on needs analysis might extend it further.

  1. What does the TEFL course include?

The Verbal Vistas TEFL course is a theoretical and practical programme designed to prepare you for real teaching situations.

The course includes:

  • 22 self-paced online modules
  • Training in teaching adults, children, and online learners
  • Core TEFL methodology and lesson structure
  • Two practical assignments, including lesson planning and teaching an online class

This balanced approach ensures you are not only certified, but also confident and classroom-ready.

  1. How long does the course take to complete?

This is a self-paced online course, and students have up to 6 months to complete it.

This is officially a 220-hour comprehensive TEFL course, while a 120-hour course is the minimum you need to be able to apply for a job as TEFL teacher.

If you are studying part-time, you can work through the modules at a comfortable pace. If you are able to study full-time, the course can be completed much faster — entirely depending on your availability and commitment.

  1. Is the course fully online?

Yes. The Verbal Vistas TEFL course is 100% online, allowing you to study from anywhere, at any time. All materials are delivered digitally, making it ideal for students who need flexibility.

  1. When does the course start?

 

There are no official starting  or ending times for the course. As soon as we receive your payment and information via email, the course modules and further instructions will be emailed to you.

  1. Will Verbal Vistas TEFL help me find a job after I complete the course?

Upon successful completion of the course, we provide graduates with links and contacts for online and in-house teaching positions at language schools and platforms that do appoint South Africans.

Many of our graduates have found employment through these opportunities. While we cannot guarantee a job, completing our course places you in a strong and competitive position in the TEFL job market.

  1. Is employment guaranteed after completing the course?

Employment cannot be guaranteed, as hiring decisions are made by schools and platforms themselves. However, Verbal Vistas TEFL connects graduates with reputable schools and companies, and our training is designed to meet their expectations.

Your success will depend on factors such as availability, professionalism, and how actively you apply — but our graduates consistently secure work.

  1. Do I need a degree or only TEFL to teach English?

That depends on where you want to teach English.

Online: TEFL certificate (120+ hours) is often the only requirement.

Some online companies also require a Bachelor’s degree.
